Day 34: Carrot Cake

A vegetable cake, uh. Why do we make this? Well, way back when sugar and the sweet likes were hard to come by, there was little else as sweet as a carrot. So Ta-da!

When looking for places to get a carrot cake we found two places: Papa Haydn's and Rock Bottom. We didn't want to overdo Papa's, so to Rocky's it was. This dessert was listed for two, yet when we ordered it, the waitress asked if we wanted one or two. I had hard time finishing this one. Liz helped a little, but the cake is pretty heavy so it was pretty slow going on the last few bites. The water helped.

Apparently, Sarah makes a mean cake de carrot. I would have given her a heads up had I known. I'll have to try hers someday.
